Homeowner short film was recently awarded two very nice honours by a short film festival called Sweet As Film festival. Thanks for the nice awards.
Deep in Post Production on Brewstars
The clock is ticking and we are more then half way through Post Production on our webseries pilot Brewstars.
Filming went fantastic and we nailed everything I wanted in 1.5 days which worked out perfectly. It all went pretty flawlessly actually. The only regret being that we should have ordered 10 pizza's like my Producer wanted instead of 7 like I suggested. Oh well. No one went totally hungry.
The pilot is good, I am happy with it, and wouldn't really change much if I had the opportunity. I got all the coverage I wanted and everyone did a great job in their performances.
Can I just talk about my cast for a second. Fantastic and fun people, there were so many jokes, and so much laughing it was super fun positive experience for everyone. So glad they agreed to do it, and hope we get to make more.
Here is a little teaser
Brewstars - a new Sigil Digital production in the works
We have once again been awarded a Storyhive production grant from Telus. This time we are shooting a Webseries pilot about two brothers who are running their Craft brewery into the ground.
Our show will star the amazing Fred Ewanuick as Kevin the owner, and Andrew Barber as Ludwig his brother and master brewer.
Canadian fans will remember Fred from his many years as Hank Yarborough on Corner gas, or as Dan in Dan for Mayor.
Andrew Barber is an established Improv artist and is best know for his crazy characters on his own youtube page.
We have a talented Australian actor Rhona Rees playing cousin Kelsey, and also the general manager of the brewery.
the talented Jaymee Mak will join us playing Arlene, the only "real" employee of the brewery.
High Resolution - Homeowner Full Short
The version of Homeowner that went up to the Storyhive site wasn't the greatest quality. Here is a link to a better version.
Homeowner - Movie
The short film is done and was released on Telus Storyhive. Link Below.
It was a whirlwind week of voting, and evangelizing the movie. The Storyhive competition which will be decided on Mar 11th is more about building your audience then getting votes, so I spent all week pumping up the twitter account, @homeownermovie which now has over 750 and also getting word on on our Facebook page.
The movie itself had over 3500 views in the 5 days it was released. Not too shabby thanks to some tweet outs from some friends. The reception has been amazing and everyone seems to want more.
Feel free to watch the movie on Telus' website here. Unfortunately the Youtube encoding makes it look really low quality. Maybe I'll repost it as a higher resolution sometime.
For now, enjoy.
