Our little film The Weirdo Hero is now an award winning film. Thanks to the Top Indie Film Awards for the honours of these awards and nominations.
The Weirdo Hero - Screening
The movie is finished and on Aug31 we had the official first screening of The Weirdo Hero for friends, family and most importantly all the crew and cast who dedicated their time.
Director and Star
The movie came out pretty great. The sound guys did amazing work on the post sound, and the musical score. I couldn't be happier with that. After the film we had a panel with the cast. Lots of good questions were asked.
The turn out was great, we had about 250-300 people there and they all seemed to really enjoy the film.
The only time I like a line up, is when they are waiting to see my movie.
Now its time to start putting the movie into festivals.

2D Cartoon Animator needed
We are looking for an artist to create a cartoon character and provide animation for our short film.
The character is Harold the Hare, a cartoon rabbit that is the embodiment of our main characters self doubt. Harold appears at the worst possible times and kicks our hero when he is down.
Our film is live action and we would like to add this animation seamlessly into our scenes. We will take care of the VFX part and tracking animation into the scene.
Harold will start small, but as the film progresses and our heros self doubt grows so will Harold until he is man sized. So we would want to see a slow progression of the character.
Style we are thinking similar to Ren and Stimpy, rough,. not particularly cute.
This is a big commitment, we are probably looking at 5-10 minutes of screen time, and as it is a indie feature there is no budget. Everyone in the production is volunteering their time. If fund raising is successful and we are able to pay everyone then that's great.

We are making a movie!!
Super excited to announce that we are making a short film in 2015.
The current working title is Spandex Superhero and it revolves around a semi-pro wrestler who is dealing with depression.
Logline -
After winning the title championship a successful wrestler struggles with depression as his real world responsibilities come crashing down around him. Fighting with undiagnosed depression and treading water financially his efforts are made harder by an animated version of his self doubt terrorizing him until he finds himself on the edge of something drastic.
We just sent out the casting call and will be looking at local actors to fill the roles of:
Harold the Hare: A cartoon who shows up to chid and belittle Randy at the worst possible times.
Gina: Randy's partner who is stuck trying to figure out why he is so sad all the time.
Gary: Office manager dick
Sandra: Creepy bird lady who watches everyone at the office
Jason: Office smart ass
Security Guard: Nice man that smiles and loves Randy
Our hero character is played by the semi-pro wrestler and ECCW title champ Ravenous Randy Myers.
